  • Wed, 15:42: First line managers. So few I ever worked for or under should have been put in charge of people. They might have been good once at their job but that's no marker of success for helping others succeed — the sine qua non of management (as much as I'm distrustful of the term).
  • Wed, 15:51: I hate to think what teachers are telling the kids about the 6th mass extinction. Something like this perhaps: "Sorry kids, but get used to the fact that your parents sqaundered everything and it's going to be really, really crappy during your lifetime." Yikes, that won't sell.
  • Wed, 16:32: If anyone says their school days were the best days of their life, they're lying that or they were on drugs.
  • Wed, 16:53: Hard to believe Steve McQueen died in 1980 (7th November) aged 50. Seems like only yesterday. Still my all time favourite actor. https://t.co/GmOlbNRjoU
  • Wed, 17:37: “Aleister Crowley - The Great Beast 666” Bloody odd. https://t.co/WczWJVpeFb
  • Wed, 17:44: "I didn't want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that's really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you're so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare." — Ned Vizzini, It's Kind of a Funny Story
  • Wed, 17:55: My secondary school education was sh*t. All those supposed teachers should be ashamed of themselves. The only decent one was my technical drawing teacher and that was only because he let us do whatever we wanted and never bothered to say anything if we decided not to turn up.
  • Wed, 17:58: How have we been brainwashed to believe in the capitalist ideal — 'be all you be' and all that crap? I can't believe we've not better embraced the gift economy or pursued a more village-minded way of ordering our lives.
  • Wed, 18:06: Finished off editing my website today. #progress
  • Wed, 18:19: I talk to Mrs S about the 'more time' that end of life care offers (she's a heart failure nurse). But I look at it very differently. It's offering more death too which sadly never gets talked about. Sometimes enough is enough.
