Why bother indeed.
Wasn’t it Helen Keller who said that life is either a daring adventure or nothing? And yet, when you look at the way we act, you’d think it was over before it was over. Oh sure, we carry on ... and on … but is that it?
I don’t mean to suggest that we don’t ever try, but how often do we envision something different for our life and then act to bring it about? (Habits are everything.)
As I look back over the nearly 50 years of my life, I begin to see how the changes I've made have really shaped me; but, of course, they’re my choices -- no one else’s. And one thing I know for sure, is that at least I gave it a go, meaning I was prepared to fail.
It’s the most hackneyed of phrases -- we only have one life -- but if that was truly the case, would you be living it this way, as opposed to something that brings all your gifts, wisdom and love to the world?
I doubt it.
I very much doubt it.
