Rituals

They come in two varieties:

1) those that liberate you; and

2) those that negate (personal) development.

It's not always easy to discern the difference. In fact, sometimes we strive in pursuit of mastery, fall into a grove (or rut?), only to discover that we have acquired a skill set devoid of meaning.

Fear is often a barrier to liberation, but the corollary is that the voice that impedes our progress is the same one that guides our most inspiring endeavours. Absent a brave heart, though, the fear magnifies itself to the point where even the smallest break from tradition tips us into the abyss.

Make sure before you succumb to the malaise of repetition that you focus on a higher calling, one informed by faith and not just economic well-being.
