My life

Good morning.

It's Friday. The end of the working week — for me at least.

I'm not relieved: I'm not anything.

Of course, I've got the weekend to rest and recharge but then again, it won't be long before I'm back here (doing my lawyer thing) again.

Over the weekend, it's forecast to be wet, windy and a bit wild. That's nature, eh! Sure, it won't be pleasant (I always think of the animals) but I wouldn't have it any other way. Imagine it: constant sunshine. Nope. Not me.

This week, my workouts have been a bit intermittent; but I've still gone to the gym. Last night, I trained with daughter #3. She's getting better and better and, once again, has confirmed her desire to apply to the police and the army and wants to get stronger and fitter to pass the fitness tests that she'll be required to undertake. I know she'll be fine.

Work has picked up but nowhere near what it once was. When I was in private practice, I would routinely work a 12-14 hour day in order to bill around 7 hours of chargeable time. Looking back, it was madness.

But that was then; this is now. And, despite my sometimes despairing posts, I do feel blessed that I have a short drive to work, the people are nice and I can spend proper time on my work, and not be harried by a plethora of often angry and very demanding clients. (Quite a few, sadly, wouldn't need much prompting to sue me and/or the firm!)

I hope this weekend to do some vegan cooking. I've got into a bit of a rut where I'm cooking the same things and I can do better. I'd like, in particular, to try and experiment with a few new ingredients like tempeh and other forms of tofu. If I do, I'll try to share a few pictures.

I don't suspect we'll go very far because of the weather, but I might go to the coast — Paignton perhaps — to feel the stormy wind on my face and to get outside. Also, Alfie will need walking and this might be a way of killing two birds with one stone.

On Sunday, I'll record my weekly monograph on Patreon (see below) and share a written piece. I do love sitting down in a quiet space and seeing what shows up.

What about you?

Have you got anything planned?

Until tomorrow.

Blessings, Ju.
