Getting off the treadmill

“Work without love is slavery.” -- Mother Teresa

I've worked all my life.

Big deal!

But, rarely, if ever, has it brought me to full expression. Instead, I've lived behind the veil of fear that keeps so many of us locked in the system, afraid of speaking up in case we lose everything.

Is this life?

I don't think so.

Life is making the most of who we are -- expressing our full, amazing brilliance.

Work as we know it will never do it. At best, it's a compromise.

If that's right, then we have to find a way to escape the system. No, not the soft option of a holiday, but something much more expansive. If we don't then all we're doing is trading our life away for the money imperative.

If that's your role, then fine but for me I don't intend my life to be spent chasing next gig and the one after that. Sure, we all need to eat and find shelter but there's more than one modus operandi open to us.
