Stress to impress 🙏
“Sometimes, the most productive thing that you can do is to step outside and do nothing... relax and enjoy nature.”
― Melanie Charlene
I've worked since the age of 13; I'm now 52. That's a long time, or at least it feels that way.
How long have you been grafting to make ends (and needs) meet?
In large part, I've endured.
Sorry, that sounds awfully dreary and I'm certainly not looking for sympathy but there remains more than a sense of lack in not apprehending why it couldn't have been different. I mean, it's not as if I've not tried my hand at a few different gigs.
In addition, I've burnt through so many of life's matches by working way too hard. Yes, the title is very apposite to me.
As to what the future holds, who knows, but one thing is for sure, I intend to make the most of my waning years doing more of what I like, working as often or as little as I like and not doing it for the man. I know it's easier said than done but once my youngest daughter has completed her A-levels (fingers crossed) in 2021, it's my intention to write a new chapter in my work life.
In the meantime, I'll keep spinning plates and putting on a good show.
