We're blind to it: life.
Oh sure, we know how to complain -- less so, celebrate -- but when it's over it's over.
You know. Dead. Gone. Not here...anymore to smell the flowers, kiss someone we love, enjoy a drink; you know the rest.
But few us want to talk about death. Life. Hell, it's spawned so much BS we're practically drowning in it. A good death on the other hand -- see Stephen Jenkinson awe-inspiring book, "Die Wise" -- hell no.
As I sit here at 6am at the start of another pain-free day, one thing I know for sure, is that I won't be doing this for much longer. Perhaps another twenty or thirty years if I'm really lucky. In the past, I would have taken that as signal to work harder, but now? If it's a sign of anything, it's to savour, deeply savour, this moment, for it's the only moment we've got. Morbid? A deep fascination with death? Not really. If anything, I've a longing to explore what it means to live one moment at a time.
Enjoy your day.
Blessings.
