The thinking self

We're lost in the stream of our thinking.

Something comes up; we follow it; it sticks; and, before you know it, we're anywhere else but now.

Woo woo?

Utter crap?

The trouble is too many people live out 'there' -- god forbid they might examine their life beyond the superficial, "What's next?", we've all got on our minds.

If you're reading this, you're alive.

How amazing is that?

If you can, find time to go for a walk, listen to some music and lose yourself in art. Before long, unless you're doing it out of a sense of getting something -- please, no -- you'll discover a world of presence (i.e. the light floods in) that's been obscured by your egoic self; you know, that little old voice that forever needs to have something on its mind (or is it yours?). It's so needy isn't it.

There are different levels to this consciousness, but if you do this regularly and without gain or reward, pretty soon you'll discover you've less on your mind but, better still, a place where you make better choices, enjoy life more and aren't stuck with yesterday's record.

At least that's how it is for me.
