A time for reflection

“There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.”
-- Leonard Cohen

Pause, reflect and see the world anew.

It's so hard, and yet, do we have a choice in a world that tries so hard to keep us as we are?

I'm not talking about goals or resolutions.

No, I'm mean to see the world through beginner's mind.

If you need inspiration, take out a blank sheet of paper and write down one thing that's been on your mind for a long time.

Why haven't you addressed it?

Fear?

How about finding out what's so fearful about fear?

That might be a good place to start.

Or to ask yourself why you can't hold the feeling you get -- i.e. anger, frustration, greed -- instead of letting it overwhelm you.

If, of course, all 'this' seems too much, then perhaps the best thing to do is to allow everything to be ... just as it is.

Being human

"We are not human beings on a journey toward Spirit, we are already spiritual beings on a journey toward becoming fully human, which for some reason seems harder precisely because it is so ordinary."-- Richard Rohr

Having just read Richard Rohr's daily meditation, I felt compelled to share the last part (as quoted above).

To me, it perfectly sums up life ... this one precious life that we too often take for granted.
