― Charles Bukowski, Factotum
There's a reason why Bukowski's got me by the throat: I'm fed up reading prolix prose. Perhaps it's an age thing, but I want it straight. None of that flimflam, verbosity that seems to fill the airwaves.
But it's more than that. Give me an hour or so of reading the great man's work, and I feel inspired.
I don't honestly know. I just feel his work in my blood and know that if I don't do something with all that 'inspiration' then I'm no better a dilettante, or more likely a bum...as he would have said.
