I'm on holiday...

Apologies for not writing on LJ for a while. But...it's been deliberate.

Things are happening very quickly for me right now.

As I expected, I’ve ‘lost’ my job as CEO of the law firm. A quiet word was had in the partners’ ears and costs being costs, I was persona non grata. I’m OK with it save that in a short while I’ll have a hole to fill in our bank balance. But we’ll be OK -- I know something will turn up, and hopefully this time round I can focus on the higher part of my hierarchy, i.e. to look at a purpose-driven role.

Also, we’ve moved house, which is still be completed -- the unpacking that is.

And we’ve come away on holiday to Portugal. It’s a wonderful place but not quite as I imagined. It’s nice though to spend time with my brother and his family, given, I suspect, it may be the last foreign holiday we have for some time and when we do next go away, there’s no guarantee that all my children will want to go away with us.

When I get back home, there will be much to work on: the doing, not the talking, will be my focus.

PS. I’m reading a wonderful book by Byron Katie. One line has stuck: what’s my business is my business; what’s your business is yours; and everything else is God’s. All I need to do to be ‘happy’ is keep coming to my business without accepting any of my thoughts as true, which they seldom are.
