Life goes on and on

“Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.” -- Mark Twain

Make a dent in the Universe.

Be the change.

Never give up.

Just do it.

We're awash with slogans.

We're a bit light on that...whether in the political or, indeed, any other space.

The truth is if we want to see change, of whatever hue and dimension, then it starts and ends with us.
Simple as...

And yet, we cling like zombies to the past hoping beyond the point of sanity that things won't change or not that fast.

We're deluded.

The planet's resources are running out.
The earth is warming up.
We're expanding in numbers.
We constantly want more, not less.

Yes, it's a cataclysmic message but how else would you like me to couch it?

And yes, I recognise my hypocrisy every time I drive my car or buy something that can't be recycled or used again. But at least I know that I've got to change...even if it takes a lot more muscle than I ever thought possible.

What do you think?

Are we living as somnambulists or an enlightened race?

I think you are right.

But i also think that the hurry-up-and-get-things-done attitude is part of our basic problem. The dynamism of our culture is part of the reason that we have so much stuff and do so much damage to ourselves, each other, and the planet.

Slow down,

recognize illusions as illusions

Always try to be kind, grateful, prayerful, humble, restrained.
Morning my friend. Such wise words -- and if only we would all take them to heart and live them out in our daily lives rather than thinking that happiness is to be gained by buying stuff and living out there, rather than within.
